Everyone knows how rich people are down at the city of Dubai. One thing they seem to like doing with their oil-money is building real awesome skyscrapers. Here is a selection of a few projects, which may be built in Dubai over the next years. Can anyone identify buildings and probably give some more information about some of them?

The Dubai Towers

This is the “Dubai Towers”, which are built by Sama Dubai real estate development. They are an ensemble of winding highrises, which are built to form the center of a lagoon, which is another megaproject in Dubai by itself. The highest tower is expected to be 1,310ft (400m) and the two lower around 900ft. They plan to complete this project in 2010.

The Great Dubai Wheel

This is obviously the “Great Dubai Wheel”, which aims to be the largest observation wheel of the world. It will be 185m high and give visitors a 50km view around Dubai. The wheel is planned by the same company that built the London Eye.

Space Theme Park

This is obviously a space-themed park featuring replicas of well known space ships. Or will they buy real things? Most probably not… But who knows.

Palm Island

Palm Island is already almost finished. The artificial island was built by putting rocks and sand into the water just outside the Dubai beach.

The Sheth Tower

The Sheth Tower is a futuristic and rather dorky looking building.
