Last night the final season of LOST started. Apple offers season passes for this season in it’s iTunes store. Previously with these passes you could download episodes as soon as they aired.

It’s has now been 15 hours since the first two episodes of LOST Season 6 aired and they are still not on iTunes. Allegedly the episodes of the new series “Caprica” are delayed 5 days on iTunes! Could it be that ABC made Apple delay LOST before putting it on iTunes?
Also, Apple should be forward in this case and clearly tell when episodes are available, before I actually shell out $50 for the seasons pass.

Of course there is no communication from Apple’s side and I can just hope that a shitstorm breaks loose on blogs and Twitter which warns people of buying TV shows from Apple’s iTunes store.

There is already a mild uproar on Twitter going on among LOST fans.

But probably it’s just a technical issue of some sort. Stay tuned as this story develops…

Update:
I am an iPhone Application developer and had to accept new term of service for putting my Apps on iTunes just today. Probably this also required some maintenance in the store which delays the episodes?

Ich habe dabei die gleichen Erfahrungen gemacht wie Martin. Es ist sehr schwer die DSLR stabil zu halten, besonders wenn man dabei noch den Fokus ziehen will. Es ist außerdem nicht ganz einfach, wirklich sauber zu fokussieren. Das ist, denke ich, jedoch eine Übungs- und Konzentrationssache.
Was auch noch wichtig ist: Zeit lassen. Immer viel länger drauf halten, als man es eignetlich für nötig hält. Zum einen braucht man am Anfang und Ende einer Videosequenz genug “Raum” um vernünftige Anschlüsse schneiden zu können und zum anderen sieht man erst beim Schnitt, wie lange man eine Einstellung zeigen möchte. Ich habe ettliche Einstellugen, die viel zu kurz sind, um zusammengeschnitten stimmig zu wirken.

Insgesamt macht das Video shooten aber viel Spaß. Am wichtigsten ist es, glaube ich, einen sauberen Fokus hin zu bekommen. Mit ein bißchen Bildwackeln kann ich noch leben. Ich habe mit der 7D schon einige Probevideos vom Stativ geschossen und die sehen mir immer ein wenig zu statisch und langweilig aus.

Wärend ich diese Zeilen geschrieben habe, hat der Amazon-Mann gerade den Manfrotto Videokopf gebracht. Das Gerät wird natürlich auch gleich getestet

Für mich persönlich macht die doch recht umfangreiche Blogansicht der Startseite nicht so viel Sinn, da ich die Blogs, die mich interessieren lieber per RSS abonniere und dann in chronologischer Reihenfolge lese. Interessant wäre jedoch eine Ansicht ähnlich wie Rivva.de, wo häufig verlinkte Blog-Beiträge besonders hervorgehoben werden.

Ansonsten ist Foto-Radar.de sicher eine gute Übersicht über die aktuellen Themen rund um das Thema “Fotografie”.

Update Vault Error:
10 errors occurred. The first 5 are:
Aperture has detected a problem with the vault “Main Vault”.
You need to remove this vault and create a new one.

Obviously I tried creating a new vault, but got the same error message when starting the backup.

What I had to do was remove the plugins I had installed. The plugins are usually located in the directory “~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export/”.
After this I could update my vaults again…

Brezenknödel sind eine leckere Beilage, die nicht, wie Semmelknödel, als Kugeln gekocht werden, sondern als Wurst in Alufolie gerollt. Als Grundlage nimmt man 2-3 Tage alte Laugebrezeln oder -Stangen, und zwar ca. 250g. Das sind etwa 3 Laugenstangen.

Das Laugengebäck schneidet man zu kleinen Würfeln.

Nun mischt man ¼l lauwarme Milch mit 2 Eiern und ein bißchen frisch geriebener Muskatnuss. Diese Eiermilch gibt man unter die Brotwürfel und würzt das ganze ordentlich mit Pfeffer und Salz. Dazu kommt noch eine halbe fein gewürfelte Zwiebel und ordentlich gehackte Petersilie. Das ganze wird nun gut vermengt und dann 20 Minunten ziehen gelassen.

Sodann wird eine Lage Frischhaltefolie über eine Lage Alufolie gelegt. Auf die Frischhaltefolie wird die Brotmenge gehäuft und grob verteilt.

Danach wird die Masse fest zu einer Rolle zusammengerollt, zunächst die Frischhaltefolie und dann stramm drummherum die Alufolie. Die Enden der Alufolie müssen kräftig zusammengedreht werden.

Die Brezelknödel Wurst wird nun 20 Minuten in fast kochendem Wasser gesiedet. Danach die Wurst herausnehmen, Folie entfernen und in Scheiben schneiden. Guten Appetit!

Übrig geblieben Brezelnknödel-Scheiben können im Kühlschrank aufgehoben werden und schmecken besonders gut, wenn Sie in Butter angebraten werden.

BBC offers it’s radio programs in various streaming formats. One is unfortunately Realmedia, which is, as we all know a total shitty company, whose “player” (aka. crappy malware) will never get on my computers. VLC implements Realmedia, but at least at my place the playback stops after a while and then comes back sounding like rubbish. Making the playback buffer larger helps a little but after a while the problem comes back…
The good thing is, that the Realmedia stream seems to be available from outside the UK. So, if you are insane and have the scrappy Real Player on your computer, you might just use one of the streams from this list: http://support.bbc.co.uk/multicast/streams.html

But of course we want to listen to BBC using VLC, because we want to record the brilliant saturday night’s Essential Mix. So when crappy Real crap (I really hate this stuff) doesn’t work correctly, we need to look at the other streams offered by the BBC. One is a WMV Windows Media Stream, which has also a higher bitrate. These streams can only be accessed from within the UK.
What you got to do is use a Proxy server located in the UK, when opening this stream. You can use this list to discover free proxy servers in the UK: http://www.xroxy.com/proxylist.php. Just enter one of these proxys into the the “Input&Codecs” tab of VLC’s preferences. Don’t forget to set the port number as well. Then, just open the stream’s URL (should end with .asx) from the “Open Network” menu entry and after a while the program should begin playing.

You can also start VLC with the correct proxy and stream URL from the command line:
